DENVER (AP) - Peter Forsberg has been told by doctors in his native Sweden he'll need several months of rehabilitation if he wants to return to the Colorado Avalanche, The Denver Post reports.
Forsberg, who turned 35 on Sunday, has had troubles with his right foot and ankle. He returned to Colorado in February – but groin pulls kept him out of nine of 18 regular season games and three of four games in the second round of the playoffs.
The Post reported Sunday that doctors have told Forsberg he'd need several months of rehab if he wants to return. Forsberg's agent, Don Baizley, didn't immediately return telephone messages seeking comment.
