Falcons ranked 6th in preseason poll

Despite a second place finish in the Mountain West Conference a year ago and the team’s first bowl bid in four years, the Air Force football team is getting little respect. The Falcons, 9-3 a year ago, are ranked only 6th in the Mountain West preseason poll voted on by media members.
Two-time defending champ BYU is an overwhelming choice to three-peat. Utah is picked second followed by TCU, New Mexico and Wyoming. CSU, under new head coach Steve Fairchild, is picked to finish eighth.
