Students at Fountain-Fort Carson High School are making sure less fortunate members of their community have a happy holiday. The community center in the Fountain Valley offers food baskets and toys to families in their area that are in need. Students from the high school have stepped-up in a big way, providing more than 150 food baskets.
Event organizers say the people receiving the items are often overwhelmed. "It's a wide range of reactions," said Jolene Chapman, Program Assistant. "We have a lot of people who are happy about it. A lot of people who've cried about it. It's thankfulness from people."
Fountain-Fort Carson High has been helping with this holiday effort for more than 25 years now.
