The following email was received on Friday, March 21, 2008, from a Sergeant with the Colorado Springs Police Deparment specializing in internet crimes and sex offenders. It was written to News First investigative reporter James Jarman about the "Most Wanted Predators."
Three of the first ten Most Wanted Predators have been captured since the start of this News First 5/30 effort.
These men are convicted sex offenders who are essentially "missing;" law enforcement does not know where they are. We want to track these predators down and bring them to justice, but we need your help.
You can participate in this effort to clean up our community. Read about the convicted sex offenders and email anything you can share to jjarman@koaa.com or news@koaa.com.
This is the email received on March 21:
James:
Great news! I just received word that Carroll was arrested at the Denver Mission. No word on how/what the circumstance yet. But in my opinion, the news story is a leading factor, if not the primary factor in his arrest.
Thank you again for this story, for your help, and for the station's commitment to making the community safer.
