Lisa Lyden arrived at KOAA-TV 5/30 in July 1983. She's been with the station - and with the people of Southern Colorado - ever since. Lisa's been telling our story for more than 25 years!
Lisa has been involved with so many people, stories, events, organizations, and charities here in our community. Here is a small sampling of some of the stories submitted in honor of her silver anniversary.

Lisa, CONGRATULATIONS on 25 wonderful years in broadcasting!
I have been watching Lisa since I was a child. There are so many fond memories that I have of her. The one that sticks out the most is when she did the story on the loss of my infant daughter, Nicolette Jo Klinker.
It was the worst time of my entire life. I was being hit from every direction. The media was bombarding me trying to get an interview. I had no strength left at all. After a long and miserable day dealing with all the stresses of losing a child, I sat down to watch the 10 o'clock news. Lisa reported the story.
I will never ever forget the compassion and class that she showed when doing the story that night. Lisa reported what she had to report about the person that hurt my daughter, but she did not forget that there was also a precious child that became an angel all too soon.
Lisa, I will be forever grateful for the compassion you showed not only that night, but also in the days and months that followed.
Thank you for being the BEST at what you do!!

Lisa - Congrats on your wonderful 25 years at KOAA. You MC'd a Volunteer Appreciation luncheon for me and all my volunteers at Peterson AFB about 5 or 6 years ago and my volunteers till mention that to me ... "How did you get Lisa Lyden to MC this luncheon?" And I say - "I asked her." It was extremely gracious of you and I enjoyed sitting down and planning with you and my co-worker, Susan.
You are an amazing woman - person - reporter - anchor.
With all your work on the Susan G. Koman project (I have 2 co-workers with breast cancer and lost an aunt to that awful disease) and admire you so much for your support.
I'm so glad to be able to wish you a happy 25th.

My family moved to Colorado in 1984 and we have been watching Lisa for 23 of her 25 years with KOAA. I have two very fond memories of her.
The first one is when my son and daughter were very young. They would pretend to be Lisa Lyden and Patrick Madden and broadcast the news. They would record it on their tape recorder then play it back. I wish I still had those tapes.
This past week, I've been seeing news clips of her when she first started and listending to all her co-anchors talk about what a genuine person she is and how she is just as real off-camera as the is on-camera and that's what brings me to my next memory of her.
I did have the pleasure of meeting Lisa one day at the Colorado State Fair about 10 years ago. I was working at a candy booth in the Agricultural Building and she came by to buy a piece of chocolate and I told her it was "on the house." She first insisted that she pay for it, but when I insisted that it was on me she graciously accepted it and told me "thank you" and that it was really nice of me to do. We only chatted for a few minutes, but in that short conversation 10 years ago, she gave me a lasting impression of a truly kind, caring, compassionate and genuine person.
I would have to say that I agree with all her co-anchors. Lisa Lyden is the real deal! Congratulations, Lisa, on your 25 years. God Bless.

Congratulations on your silver anniversary! You've come into our home every night for the past 2 years. We've moving out of state at the end of the month. We'll both miss your compassion, ethical reporting and your smile. Keep up the good work. You won't be able to come into our home anymore, so please be comfortable in the homes you've been in for the past 25 years!

I always looked forward to each year when Lisa nad Mike would end the evening news during the State Fair wit htheir own 20 minute (or so) report of "What to See at the Fair" - complete with rides and food contests they'd participated in. It was always fun to watch their reactions to whatever they investigated that day and then I would take their recommendations for myself when I visited the fair! They always looked to be having such fun that it would fire me up to "go on down."
I would love to see the two of them, once again, recreate those "good old days" this year for Lisa's anniversary. They looked like they always had fun each day exploring the fiar and finding the silliness. It always seemed that we were lucky enough to eavesdrop on two friends just goofing around at the fair each day.
Fond memories ...
By the way, Lisa, you look spectacular these days! When I see the older pix of you now, you seem to have grown from the "girl next door" into a beautiful anchor woman.
Kudos to you! You go girl!
From Al - Colorado Springs
I have enjoyed Lisa and her "realness" ever since my beautiful wife and I moved to Colorado years ago.
There have been two occaisions when Lisa has gotten emotional while doing her broadcast. The one of most interest was when a little girl was killed when someone rear ended the car she was in and the parents didn't have the money for a funeral.
Lisa was visibly shaken and moved by the story but it proved to me the she has a heart for this community and she is more than just another journalist. I wished at that moment I could reach through the TV and give a hug and a high five.
She's for real. The real deal. She's our Lisa Lyden and she rocks!
